Off-Campus Access

Remote Access to most subscription databases, from computers not connected to the University's network, is available by using the library number from an activated Bloomsburg University ID using the Pilot Patron Authentication System.

When Off-Campus Access is Denied

1. Omit all spaces between library card numbers. Card activation status may be checked by calling the Library's Circulation Desk at 570-389-4205. Remote access is not provided to the general public, including those with Pennsylvania Resident cards.

2. Version 4.0 or higher of both Netscape and Internet Explorer are recommended for most databases. If you are experiencing difficulties, you may wish to change your browser preferences to allow cookies and enable Java and Javascript. The AOL browser has been known to present difficulties with some databases, especially WebSPIRS.

If all the above steps are taken and access continues to be denied, call (570-389-4801) or Email the Database Coordinator and provide as much information as possible, including the address of the page which had the link to the database you could not access.
