The Murder of Alexander W. Rea and the First Trial.
The articles concerning the murder and first trial are rather brief and the Andruss Library only has possession of two newspapers from this time period, the Columbian and Democrat and the Pottsville Miners' Journal. The articles start on October 23, 1868 with the murder of Rea and go to May 15, 1869 with the acquittal of the Michael Pryor and the dismissal of Patrick Hester.
