Reese Davis was from Forest City in Susquehanna County, and entered the Normal School in September of 1910. He was enrolled in the College Preparatory Program, and graduated on June 26, 1912. He went on to earn a medical degree and was employed by the State Hospital in Scranton when he enlisted in May, 1917. Davis was killed on a yet unknown date while working at a base hospital in France.
It was not until five years after the war that the school recognized that Davis should be included in the pinery, and his name was added to the bronze tablet installed on the boulder in November of 1924. One of the unnamed trees was designated to be named in his honor.
