President's Reception

8:00 p.m. - Centennial Gym

        The reception and ball was a formal event open to all college students and faculty members and required a tuxedo or dark suit for the men and evening gown or cocktail dress for the women.  The featured entertainment was the dance band sound of the well-known Les and Larry Elgart Orchestra, with Les on the trumpet and Larry on the sax.
