Academic Convocation

2:00 p.m. - Centennial Gym

Testimonial Dinner

8:00 p.m. - College Commons

Academic Convocation

The academic convocation featured as principal speaker His Excellency Sivert A. Nielsen, Norwegian Ambassador to the United Nations, as well as the Governor of Pennsylvania, William W. Scranton.  The program commemorated the 125th anniversary of Bloomsburg State College and honored Dr. Andruss on his 25th anniversary as President.  It was held in Centennial Gym because it had the largest seating capacity of any facility on campus at that time.

In the photo at left the faculty can be seen marching to the Convocation in Centennial Gym, with Dean of Instruction John Hoch at the head of the procession.  At right Sivert Nielsen and BSC President Harvey Andruss prepare to enter the gym.
