Wireless Network Access in Andruss Library Troubleshooting

  • Having problems connecting?
    Make sure your settings are WPA / TKIP instead of Open / WEP on the Bloomu Properties.
    Open / WEP was our older wireless network and the new wireless network is using WPA as our Network Authentication with TKIP as our Data Encryption.

  • Need to change usernames that log into the network on a Windows XP laptop?
    Click Here to load a registry file to delete cached user info.
    (click "Open" then "yes" then "OK" to import this file.)

  • Not sure if you have WinXP SP2 installed?
    Click on your start menu, select "Run". Type in "winver" and click ok.
    Second line should say at the end: "Service Pack 2"

    General Information



    All on campus students will be required to register their computer prior to connecting to our network. In addition, your computer will need to be compliant with the University's network standards to have access to the campus network.   To expedite the registration process, have your default user name and password available (same as your MyMail account, information on locating it can be found here ). You also MUST have an up to date virus scanner If you do not own a registered version of a virus scanner, the University will provide you with a licensed copy upon your arrival (Please note, Trial versions will not be accepted by the registration process.  You must have a fully functional virus scanner to continue with registration).   Furthermore,Windows must have all critical updates and service packs, which can be obtained from the Windows Update web site.  You can not gain access to the campus network until all steps of the registration process are accomplished.
